Q & A with ANTHONY

a. Where are you from?

Originally from Michigan living in Illinois

b. Instagram name

@aabird88

c. What motivates you to train?

A lot of things. It helps relieve stress. It helps me keep up with my kids who have unlimited energy. It helps keep me feeling energetic and healthy. Love to progress, even if it’s slow sometimes. My kids are my greatest motivation to train. I didn’t grow up in a school with any kind of sport, never knew a thing about lifting until a few years into my time in the Marine Corps. I don’t want them to suffer the same thing. I want them to be bigger, better, faster, and stronger than I ever will be. They sit and watch me lift at home and it’s the best thing ever. I hope they grow up to love it. That’s my biggest motivation.

d. What’s your greatest success in lifting?

Not sure I have the greatest success yet. But if I had to pick one it would just be continuing to show up every day and improving.

e. What music do you listen to when training?

Almost exclusively metal, but I do have some hip hop and like 3 EDM tracks in my playlist.

f. Who is your weightlifting inspiration?

Really like Garrett Fear and Jamal Browner. Garrett Fear has a similar body style as far as lengths go, he’s just way stronger than me. Haha. Jamal browner is just an absolute monster deadlifter at a relatively low weight. It’s insane.

g. Do you have any shout outs or people you’d like to thank?

Not that I can think of. Lol.
