Q & A with JACOB

a. Where are you from?

Nashville, Tennessee

b. Instagram name

@jtm_mevsme

c. What motivates you to train?

My motivation to train is being better than the man staring back in the mirror, beating him. If I can be my own motivation, then I believe that I can convince others to be their own as well.

d. What’s your greatest success in lifting?

My greatest success? In terms of actually lifting itself, would probably be the first time I pulled 405 on deadlift, or when I hit 225 on bench press just two month after finishing chemotherapy. But all in all I believe my greatest success has been my journey itself.

e. What music do you listen to when training?

Mostly metal or 90s hip hop.

f. Who is your weightlifting inspiration?

Ummmmmm I try not to glorify anyone because they’re human just as I am but I’d have to say Arnold.

g. Do you have any shout outs or people you’d like to thank?

My biggest thank you would have to go to my coach @jeffunbreakableblack because he saw something in me that I didn’t in myself and helped bring it out of me and got me believing in myself again. And also to the lady I come home to everyday @virgina_groogan, she knows how hard I push myself and what I expect of myself and she stands by me, supports me, and most of all loves me through it all!
