Q & A with RAY

a. Where are you from?

Arlington, WA

b. Instagram Name

@bodyrevfitnesspnw

c. What motivates you to train?

Struggling with weight and mental health challenges growing up put me into a place I didn’t want to be anymore, so I started working on myself physically and mentally to make a change. At that point there was no looking back, so I went back to school, changed my career, and am now coaching others who struggle similarly to how I did. I would say my clients and my history continue to motivate me and drive me every day.

d. What’s your greatest success in fitness?

I’d have to say being able to perform weighted pull-ups for reps. When I started out, I could barely do one pull-up bodyweight, so that’s exciting.

e. What music do you listen to when training?

I’m more into heavy rock and alternative punk rock personally, but my wife likes to train with me as well, so I’ve gotta include some lighter more upbeat stuff for her (but let’s be real, I enjoy it too!)

f. Who are your bodybuilding inspiration?

I’d have to say that I’ve always looked up to two individuals throughout my fitness journey: Jeff Cavaliere and Brendan Meyers.

g. What are your dreams and or what excites you?

I’m super excited to finally be taking my personal training business on full time as of the past few months as it has allowed me to really start honing my coaching, philosophy, and knowledge around the field. But I’m also very excited for my wife to finish school (registered dietitian) so we can start our family, I’ve always wanted to be a dad!

h. Do you have any shout outs or people you’d like to thank?

Totally, a huge thank you to my wife for supporting me in my fitness and decision to pursue building my own business around coaching! As well as all of my clients for trusting me with coaching, guiding, and educating them through their health and fitness journey!
